542. CONCRETE CULVERT PIPE
1. SCOPE
This specification covers the quality of non-reinforced and reinforced
concrete culvert pipe.
2. NON-REINFORCED PIPE
Non-reinforced concrete culvert pipe shall conform to the requirements of
ASTM Specification C 14 for the class of pipe specified.
3. REINFORCED PIPE
a. Round pipe. Round reinforced concrete culvert pipe shall
conform to the requirements of ASTM Specification C 76 or ASTM C 655 for the
class of pipe specified.
b. Arch pipe. Reinforced concrete arch culvert pipe shall conform
to the requirements of ASTM Specifications C 506 for the class of pipe
specified.
c. Elliptical pipe. Reinforced concrete elliptical culvert pipe
shall conform to the requirements of ASTM Specification C 507 for the class
of pipe specified.
4. REINFORCED BOX SECTIONS
Reinforced concrete box sections shall be manufactured meeting the
requirements of ASTM Specifications C 789 or C 850 based on the design
specified.
5. RUBBER GASKET JOINTS
When rubber gasket joints are specified, the joints and gaskets shall
conform to the requirements of ASTM Specification C 443.
