Illinois NRCS Initiative

Mississippi River Basin Initiative (MRBI) - To improve the health of the Mississippi River Basin, including water quality and wildlife habitat, the Natural Resources Conservation Service has created the Mississippi River Basin Healthy Watersheds Initiative (MRBI).

2012 Air Quality Initiative  - The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is dedicated to implementing conservation practices that improve air quality.

2012 On-Farm Energy Initiative - Environmental Quality Incentives Program has been authorized to provide financial opportunities for producers to address on-farm energy conservation through practice implementation and for development of energy conservation plans.

Organic Initiative - Participation in the Organic Initiative is open to persons who are certified organic or are transitioning to organic.

Seasonal High Tunnel Initiative - The goal of the Seasonal High Tunnel Initiative to assist producers to extent the growing season for high value crops in an environmentally safe manner.

NEW National Water Quality Initiative (NWQI) - The National Water Quality Initiative will assist producers to address high-priority water resource concerns in small watersheds with streams or water bodies.
