New NRCS Staffer in Sullivan USDA Service Center
Champaign, IL—NRCS
Soil Conservationist Amanda Grundy previously worked in Martinsville, IL at the
USDA Service Center in Clark County but now works out of the NRCS office in
Sullivan, IL. For 14 years, NRCS District Conservationist Gene Davis has
provided oversight of both the Shelbyville and Sullivan offices—offices located
23 miles apart. With Grundy now at the helm in Moultrie County, local USDA
customers will have a new face and a stronger NRCS presence in the area.
“Agriculture and conservation needs are high here in Moultrie County,” Grundy
explains. “I’m anxious to get to work and help landowners in the area.” Grundy
worked for NRCS in Clark County for 1.5 years, assisting private landowners with
conservation programs and practices. With a degree from Southern Illinois
University in Ag Business Production and plenty of NRCS technical training under
her belt, Grundy is ready for a busy planting season to begin.
Gene Davis, DC from Shelbyville is glad to have the help. “I look forward to
having another talented NRCS staffer help with clients and the workload over
there. Amanda is another great NRCS employee who knows how to work well with
people. I’m confident she’ll serve the needs of the area,” says Davis.
NRCS hopes to ensure that local producers’ needs are met over the coming months.
By stationing Grundy in Sullivan, local producers can rest easy knowing they
have a full-time, trained conservation specialist close at hand in the county.
