EQIP Forest Management Plans Fact SheetAs woodland property owners seek assistance to develop forest management plans, this incentive payment offers financial support to help find solutions. Forestland is an integral part of the landscape. When properly managed,
woodlands can provide many environmental benefits such as erosion control and
the creation of quality wildlife habitat. Well managed forestland can add value
to timber resources and to adjacent cropland, grazing land or other land.
Landowners with woodland and forested areas can improve their forest resources
by developing a forest management plan. Currently Illinois’ Environmental
Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is offering a Special Projects opportunity
that can help landowners learn how to manage forestland and obtain helpful
